About this role
Pacific Fusion is developing pulser-driven inertial fusion systems to deliver abundant, affordable, clean energy. The company is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to own a project through planning, design, assembly, and testing, gaining hands-on experience across the full development lifecycle of fusion systems.
What you'll do:
- In your role as an electrical a mechanical engineering intern, you will get to own a project through the planning, design, assembly, and testing phases of development
- Our intention is for our interns to get experience in cradle to grave design as well as hands-on experience building and testing these systems
- All of our intern projects are high priority and value-added efforts that directly contribute to the successful development of our fusion system
What they're looking for:
- Junior or Senior standing in a 4-year Electrical Engineering (or related) program
- Strong foundation in electrical engineering fundamentals and first principles
- Clear, confident written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of circuit analysis, power systems, signals, controls, or embedded systems (depending on focus)
- Experience with schematics, wiring diagrams, and basic system documentation
- Exposure to tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or similar analysis/simulation tools
- Able to work full time, onsite for a minimum of ***12 consecutive weeks***beginning in **Mid May- Mid June 2027**
- Hands-on electrical design through coursework, clubs, research, or personal projects
- Experience building, wiring, debugging, and testing real hardware
- Experience with power electronics, motors, sensors, controls, or embedded systems
- Experience defining system architectures and making tradeoffs against requirements
- Experience writing build instructions, procedures, or test plans
