Summer 2027 Quantitative Research Intern

PDT Partners, a quantitative investment manager, is hiring exceptional academics, PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers for its Quantitative Research internship program. Research Interns will work closely with senior researchers on trading strategies and models. Projects are substantive and varied, spanning statistical modeling, new signal research, and the development and optimization of trading strategies. Interns will engage with large-scale datasets and state-of-the-art technology, supported by significant computational resources. Interns will also participate in intern and company-wide events that nurture collaboration, curiosity, and community. ## Eligibility Current PhD or Postdoc in Math, Science, Engineering and other relevant disciplines who are eligible for full-time roles starting in 2027–2029. ## Program Length 10 weeks, from early June through mid-August. ## Skills and Experience - Strong mathematical and analytical foundation with exceptional problem-solving and modeling ability. - Technical strength, with programming experience in Python, R, Matlab, or C++, and a genuine interest and experience in working with technology and large datasets. - Exceptional communication skills, with comfort presenting complex ideas and collaborating in whiteboard-style settings. - Meticulous and detail-oriented, with an innate drive to understand issues deeply. - Self-motivated and highly productive, with a strong sense of ownership and urgency. - Enjoyment of solving complex, difficult, real-world problems. - Entrepreneurial and creative mindset. - Finance knowledge is not required or expected.The salary for this role is $200,000. This amount is not inclusive of any potential bonus amounts.
