Summer 2027 Software Intern_OnSite

RTX is an aerospace and defense company, with Collins Aerospace providing technologically advanced solutions for the industry. The company is seeking a Summer 2027 Software Engineering Intern to design, implement, and evaluate software for a KC-135 radio upgrade contract while participating in Agile development, research, integration, and verification activities.

What you'll do:

• Design, implement, and evaluate software in C++, Ada, or Python within the Agile framework for KC-135 radio upgrade contract
• Conduct multidisciplinary research and collaborate with other engineers in the planning, design, development of military technology
• Work closely with cross-functional research teams to evaluate the effectiveness of early software prototypes
• Perform multiple tasks given support from a mentor
• Implement requirements, detailed design, implementing software, integration, and verification in accordance with software development processes
• Accomplish tasks based on program schedule, collaborate with teammates in order to make the best decisions
• Enjoy learning new technologies, be self-motivated and contribute to a positive work environment

What they're looking for:

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) major
• Exposure to hardware or software development from classes, projects, labs, or internships
• Interest in how systems work and how hardware and software fit together
• Willingness to learn, ask questions, and take on new challenges
• Solid problem‑solving skills and the ability to stay organized when handling multiple tasks
