Summer Intern 2027 - Software Engineering

Manulife John Hancock is offering a summer internship program that provides students with hands-on experience and support from experienced technology teams. The Software Engineering Intern will develop, test, and maintain scalable applications, contribute to feature enhancements, collaborate with engineering and business teams, and participate in the software development lifecycle.

What you'll do:

• Contribute to a team of engineers focused on building scalable, reliable applications
• Support application development, testing, and debugging efforts
• Assist in feature development and system enhancements
• Collaborate with engineering and business teams to build user-focused solutions
• Participate in code reviews and maintain code quality standards
• Support deployment, monitoring, and ongoing application maintenance

What they're looking for:

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Python, Go, JavaScript)
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Bitbucket)
• Strong communication skills and willingness to learn in a collaborative environment
• Exposure to software frameworks, libraries, or development tools
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and best practices
• Familiarity with APIs, web services, or application architecture
