Job Description: Thermal Engineer – Service / Projects (HVAC)
Position: Thermal Engineer – HVAC
Department: Service / Projects
Job Purpose:
To execute installation, commissioning, and servicing of HVAC systems while ensuring adherence to quality standards, project timelines, and safety protocols, especially during lifting, shifting, and commissioning activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation and commissioning of HVAC systems (CRV/CRAC/PAC, AHU, Chillers, etc.)
- Perform pressure testing, vacuuming, and refrigerant charging as per standard procedures
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues related to cooling, airflow, and controls
- Conduct system performance testing and ensure proper functionality
- Prepare and submit service reports, commissioning documents, and checklists
Safety Responsibilities:
- Ensure strict adherence to site safety and PPE compliance
- Follow proper lifting and shifting practices using cranes, forklifts, and rigging tools
- Verify lifting equipment capacity and ensure safe load handling
- Implement nitrogen flushing, proper vacuuming, and contamination prevention
- Follow electrical safety practices including LOTO and groundin
Required Skills:
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and refrigeration cycle
- Experience in commissioning and troubleshooting
- Understanding of installation standards and safety practices
- Good reporting and communication skills
Qualification & Experience:
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / HVAC / Thermal Engineering
- 3–6 years of experience in HVAC service or project execution
Key Focus Areas:
- Quality installation & commissioning
- Safety compliance (zero incidents)
- Timely project completion
- Effective issue resolution
