Responsibilities:

  • Effectively oversee FTE staff to ensure continuous improvement in productivity and quality.
  • Manage daily staffing requirements and schedules to ensure work and special assignments are completed in a timely manner.
  • Supervise all front-line staff within the reporting structure.
  • Support employee orientation, retention, performance appraisals, and hiring recommendations.
  • Administer progressive discipline and ensure compliance with training requirements, seniority rules, and overtime rotation.
  • Participate in administering department policies and employee contractual agreements under the direction of the Manager, Facilities.
  • Identify and address personnel issues early, facilitating discussion and resolution while escalating concerns as needed.
  • Investigate ongoing personnel concerns and utilize available resources to achieve permanent solutions.
  • Routinely inspect assigned areas and equipment to ensure safety, housekeeping, and regulatory compliance.
  • Oversee testing and training to maintain compliance with TJC, DOH, AAALAC, CAP, DLAR, Department of Agriculture, and other applicable standards.
  • Manage all payroll-related procedures, including employee hours, overtime, salary increases, attendance tracking, and compliance with contractual obligations.

     

Schedule: Rotating days of the week, including weekends. Primarily 7AM-3:30PM, but also on call is required.


  • Education Required: High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Years of Experience Required: 4 years of experience in institutional building maintenance.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of two or more primary crafts of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration and/or HVAC with an adequate understanding and skills in all phases of building maintenance.
  • Proven abilities to plan, coordinate and execute all requirements of major repairs, installations of equipment or systems, construction and renovation projects, or various other design project work.
  • Communication skills to provide quality interaction with staff as to effectively supervise.
  • Military Experience Considered.
