Goodwill Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Security Supervisor to join our team! As a Security Supervisor at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and security of our clients' premises, assets, and personnel. You will oversee a team of security officers and be responsible for maintaining a high level of security standards and professionalism. Essential Duties and Tasks:

  • Positions Supervised: Corporate Concierge Security Officers 

     

    Requirements: 

    1. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills. 
    1. Clear communicator who listens well, gives useful direction, and produces objective written reports. 
    1. Knowledge of security protocols, emergency response procedures, and access control systems. 
    1. Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions during high-stress situations. 
    1. Proficiency with Microsoft Offices applications, incident-reporting platforms, surveillance systems, access-control systems, radios, and mobile applications used in security operations. 
    1. Consistent and fair in coaching, accountability, confidentiality, and policy application. 
    1. Collaborative problem-solver who protects the mission without losing sight of the person in front of them. 
    1. Must have valid driver’s license, reliable transportation to and from work.  
    1. Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location as required or similar as appropriate.  

     

    Education/Specialized Knowledge Requirements:  

    1. High school diploma or GED, Required. 
    1. Proven experience in security or law enforcement, with a minimum of three to five (3-5) years in a supervisory role. 
    1. Two or more years of relevant security, public safety, military, law-enforcement, crisis-response, or customer-service experience preferred, including demonstrated lead or supervisory responsibility. 
    1. Working knowledge of de-escalation, incident response, emergency procedures, patrol operations, access control, surveillance, and professional report writing. 
    1. CPR/AED and First Aid certification required within the timeframe established by the organization and maintained thereafter. 

     

    Physical and Work Condition Requirements:  

    1. The position requires regular standing and walking; frequent observation, speaking, listening, and use of security technology; and occasional sitting, bending, kneeling, climbing stairs, or lifting up to 25 pounds. 
    1. Work is performed in offices, lobbies, educational and community service environments, exterior grounds, parking areas, and other Goodwill locations. 
    1. The work may involve indoor and outdoor activities in varying weather conditions and shifts can vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays. 
    1. May encounter individuals experiencing emotional distress, behavioral crisis, addiction, domestic or interpersonal violence, or other challenging circumstances. The role requires sound judgement, emotional control, situational awareness, and adherence to training and policy.  

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED, Required.
  • Security Certifications are desirable.
  • Proven experience in security or law enforcement, with a minimum of three to five (3-5) years in a supervisory role.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and report-writing abilities.

Physical Demands:

  • This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work. Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity and occasional lifting up to 15 pounds.
  • Security Officers may work in a variety of settings, including office buildings, retail stores, hospitals, educational institutions, government facilities, residential complexes, and more. The work may involve indoor and outdoor activities, and shifts can vary, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
