About this role

ADVANCE YOUR CAREER. ADVANCE THE WORLD.

At AMD, we believe technology has the power to solve the world’s most important challenges. From advancing healthcare and scientific discovery to powering AI and the technologies people rely on every day, innovation at AMD is shaping the future.

Whether you’re designing next-gen processors, enabling AI breakthroughs, or bringing leading edge products to market, every role at AMD contributes to something bigger — technology that moves the world forward. Join us and, together, we’ll advance your career.

THE ROLE:

Join Supply Chain Operations in Austin, TX and help accelerate AMD product revenues. As a Program Manager, Supply Chain (Rack Supply), you'll partner with AMD Business Units and rack manufacturers (ODMs) to provision capacity and supply ahead of end-customer orders. Own rack supply planning, including validated demand inputs, clear-to-build (CTB) material readiness, and factory capacity/throughput, and serve as the central source for rack supply commitments.

THE PERSON:

You are analytical, action-oriented, and comfortable operating at pace amid ambiguity. You turn demand signals into executable plans, align cross-functional partners (Business Units, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations), and drive closure with external manufacturers. You communicate clearly, translate constraints into options, and follow through to protect commitments and revenue. You have the ability to influence cross-functional partners across Engineering, Program Management, Procurement, Operations, Business Units, suppliers, and external manufacturers to secure commitments and drive issue closure. You have strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical constraints into clear options, risks, recovery actions, and decision-ready updates for senior stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Technical Demand, BOM & Design-for-Supply Alignment

  • Translate Business Unit demand signals into technically executable rack-level supply plans across ODMs, suppliers, AMD procurement, engineering, and program teams.
  • Partner with rack architects, system engineers, BOM owners, and technical program managers to identify and resolve supply blockers through design-for-supply decisions.
  • Use Agile BOM fluency to interpret complex rack bills of material, assess supply risk across more than 150 unique part numbers, and drive closure on BOM readiness, alternates, and supplier enablement.
  • Compare AMD forecasts to customer order coverage and material readiness; highlight gaps, deltas, technical constraints, and timing risk.
  • Maintain an end-to-end demand-to-supply view across the S&OP horizon, including demand, build and ship plans, CTB status, factory capacity, engineering changes, constraints, and recovery actions.

NPI and Production Supply Readiness, CTB & Material Planning

  • Lead NPI supply planning in a dynamic design environment, adapting plans for constant engineering changes, factory cut-ins, supplier lead times, and new product improvements.
  • Analyze material availability across rack-level BOMs, including AMD consigned components and supplier-controlled parts, and convert CTB findings into executable build priorities and escalation plans.
  • Secure rack supply commitments from ODMs based on verified CTB, documented constraints, and cross-functional recovery actions.
  • Drive supply allocation decisions for constrained AMD components to support internal and external build priorities while protecting revenue and program milestones.
  • Contribute to breakthrough planning capabilities with Supply Chain Transformation, including supplier-data feeds and parallel MRP/CTB modeling in tools such as Kinaxis.

Factory Planning, Operational Execution & Leadership Readouts

  • Interface directly with rack manufacturers and system integrators to manage factory capacity, throughput assumptions, tactical build priorities, material shortages, test enablement, yield, and cycle-time constraints.
  • Coordinate simultaneous NPI ramps across multiple system integrators and prepare planning processes for future ODM/SI expansion.
  • Lead daily and weekly operating cadences to resolve supply gaps, remove administrative blockers, and align factories, procurement, engineering, program management, and Business Units on recovery actions.
  • Develop decision-ready status, risk, and escalation materials for senior leadership reviews, including program, operations, and executive-level updates.
  • Publish consolidated rack supply views that connect demand, CTB, capacity, build priorities, and revenue risk into one actionable operating model.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience working in technical supply chain, engineering program management, NPI, manufacturing operations, or a related cross-functional planning role.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical inputs, including BOM structure, engineering changes, material readiness, factory constraints, and customer or program requirements.
  • Experience connecting demand signals to supply plans across multiple planning horizons, including short-term execution, mid-range recovery planning, and long-range capacity or material readiness.
  • Background in supporting rack-scale systems, server/data center hardware, AI infrastructure, or other complex, multi-level BOM environments.
  • Expertise in engineering, technical program management, or NPI program management in a hardware development or manufacturing environment.
  • Track record of partnering with system engineers, rack architects, BOM owners, commodity teams, and technical program managers to resolve design, material, or manufacturing readiness issues.
  • Hands-on familiarity with Agile BOM processes, engineering change control, CTB analysis, supplier enablement, and material shortage resolution.
  • Experience with contract manufacturers, ODMs, or system integrators, including capacity planning, factory constraints, build prioritization, test readiness, and delivery commitments.
  • Working knowledge of ERP/MRP and planning tools; strong Excel skills, with Power BI, Kinaxis, or similar planning/analytics tools as a plus.
  • APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM/CSCP), PMP, or a similar supply chain/program management certification is a plus.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Engineering Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field is preferred. Advanced degree (MBA/MS) is a plus.

This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
