About this role
Northwood is a space infrastructure company developing advanced communications technology and satellite ground station systems. The Supply Chain Operations Intern will support procurement, inventory management, supplier analysis, logistics tracking, dashboard development, and process improvements for ground station manufacturing and deployment.
What you'll do:
- Support procurement, sourcing, and order tracking for high-tech components critical to ground station production
- Monitor inventory, analyze trends, and help optimize stock to prevent production delays
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to ensure materials meet technical specifications and quality standards
- Analyze supplier performance, lead times, and logistics data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement
- Assist in building dashboards, reports, and automated tracking systems to provide real-time visibility across the supply chain
- Help implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and mitigate operational risks
What they're looking for:
- • Pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with data to inform operational decisions
- • Proficiency with Excel; experience with dashboards or data visualization tools is a plus
- • Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and operational teams
- • Passion for space technology, manufacturing, and operational excellence
- •To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.•
- • Prior experience in the aerospace, satellite, telecommunications, or defense industries
- • Experience with ERP Systems (NetSuite/Oracle/SAP)
- • Proficient in SQL or advanced competency in MS Excel
- • Startup or fast-paced environment experience a plus
