SW Developer Intern | Enterprise Platform-as-a-Service 2027

IBM is a technology and consulting company that develops cloud, AI, and infrastructure solutions. The Software Developer Intern will design and deploy cloud service solutions, develop APIs and scalable applications, and contribute to large-scale systems across cloud and on-premises environments. The role also involves Agile development, user experience implementation, software testing, and integrating AI capabilities.

What you'll do:

• 1) Participating in Agile development cycles, including design, coding, testing, and support
• 2) Transforming wireframes into intuitive, functional user experiences
• 3) Applying software engineering and testing best practices to deliver high-quality solutions
• 4) Leveraging AI-powered tools to enhance development efficiency and productivity
• 5) Integrating AI capabilities to make our platform solutions easier to deploy, use, and scale

What they're looking for:

• High School Diploma/GED
• Minimally, the incumbent will possess:
• 1) Prior (project or internship) experience in software development and/or platform engineering
• 2) Strong verbal and written communication skills
• 3) Passion for technology and engineering
• 4) Soft skills & behaviors to include a growth mindset, trusted, teamwork, courageous, resourceful and outcome focused
• 5) Working knowledge of servers, applications, devOps tools (Git, Jenkins) and databases

• Bachelor's Degree
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Materials Science, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences or related majors
• 1) Cloud development (pushing code through a CD pipeline)
• 2) Generative AI practical application in development environment to include prompt engineering
