Position Summary
As an Assembler, you will be responsible for building standard and custom vacuum systems using engineering documentation, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs). This hands-on role includes mechanical assembly, basic electrical wiring, system testing, and preparing finished products for shipment.
What You'll Do
- Assemble vacuum systems and components according to engineering specifications and drawings.
- Perform mechanical assembly tasks, including bolting, drilling, tapping, and fitting components.
- Complete basic electrical wiring and component connections.
- Conduct system testing, leak checks, and quality inspections.
- Utilize electrical testing equipment as required.
- Ensure products meet quality standards and production schedules.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Participate in safety training and continuous improvement initiatives.
To succeed, you will need
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical or vocational degree preferred.
- Less than one year of experience in mechanical, electromechanical, manufacturing, or assembly-related work.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in hands-on assembly work.
Desired Skills
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments safely and effectively.
- Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and work instructions.
- Basic understanding of electrical wiring and testing procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Comfortable working in a Lean Manufacturing and 6S environment.
- Basic computer skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to safely operate overhead and jib cranes.
- Ability to stand, bend, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the workday.
