This is an advanced level position within our Backup/Recovery team that performs administration of our on-prem and SaaS backup solutions including but not limited to servers (virtual, physical and cloud) and Microsoft 365. They also maintain cloud native backup solutions within AWS, Azure and GCP. This individual will assist with maintaining the infrastructure for the various environments, along with the backup schedules for all backup items. Upon request, perform recoveries of files, servers, etc. for both peer level and end users. Our file-level storage product also falls under the responsibilities of this team. This includes the maintenance and administration of the infrastructure, provisioning and providing file shares.

• The salary indicated represents a base pay rate.  If the individual selected or the position is eligible for a pay differential (e.g., shift, security, or years of service), it will be added to the total compensation in your paycheck.  A pay differential does not raise your base pay. 

This position is with the Office of Administration, Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) supporting State Data Center (SDC).

Responsibilities - What you’ll do

• Installation, configuration and maintaining our on-prem Cohesity environment.
• Installation, configuration and maintaining our on-prem NetApp environment.
• Installation of physical hardware such as rack servers on-site and/or at remote data center.
• Firmware and profile management of hardware through Cisco Intersight.
• Set up backup schedules for servers.
• Perform server restore from backup, work with peer support team to verify backup integrity.
• Restore files for end users and end user support.
• Provision file shares for end user files or database backup targets.
• Maintain permissions of file shares.
• Create and maintain documentation for assigned area.

Qualifications - All you need for success

• Experience with the following products required:
      - Cohesity Data Protection.
      - Cohesity Protection Service.
      - IBM Storage Protect (formerly IBM Spectrum Protect/Tivoli Storage Manager).
      - NetApp: StorageGRID and ONTAP (on-prem and Cloud Volumes).
      - VMware vSphere.
      - Cisco Intersight.
      - Cloud providers: AWS, Azure, GCP including native backup solutions for each provider.
      - Microsoft 365: Mailboxes, Teams, SharePoint sites, OneDrive.
• Experience with server hardware, racking & stacking, internal components, firmware updates and operating systems.
• Ability to adapt to varying situations and troubleshoot performance or connection issues.
• Must stay current with current industry wide best practices.
• Successful background check results are required for employment in this position. This may include background checks involving a candidate’s name and/or fingerprints and other screenings as needed for the specific position.
