This opportunity supports an Enterprise IT contract with a team of Customer Service Specialists, Database Engineers, Information Systems Security Officers, Information Systems Security Engineers, SharePoint Developers, Systems Engineers, Network Engineers, and IT Engineers responsible for the architecture, engineering, integration, operations, maintenance and sustainment of multi-level Enterprise IT environment.
 

Job Description:

• We are seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support enterprise database environments and ensure the integrity, security, performance, and availability of mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate will have strong experience administering Microsoft SQL Server environments, performing database optimization, and supporting full database life-cycle operations in a high-availability environment.
   

The Level 2 Systems Administrator shall possess the following capabilities:

• Maintain the integrity, security, and availability of multiple database environments. 
• Administer and support Microsoft SQL Server databases in enterprise production environments. 
• Perform database performance analysis, tuning, and optimization activities. 
• Monitor database health, storage, and system performance to ensure operational stability. 
• Execute index maintenance, backups, restores, and disaster recovery procedures. 
• Develop, implement, and maintain database security policies and procedures. 
• Ensure compliance with organizational security standards and organizational requirements. 
• Support database activities, including installation, upgrades, patching, troubleshooting and migrations. 
• Organize and format data for efficient query execution and storage management. 
• Troubleshoot database-related issues and provide timely resolution to operational problems. 
• Collaborate with system administrators, sustainment and engineering teams to support application and infrastructure needs. 
• Create and maintain technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and recovery processes. 
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field 
• 5 years of experience administering Microsoft SQL Server databases in enterprise environments. 
• Additional 5 years’ experience needed to substitute for a degree (10 total years)
• Strong knowledge of SQL Server administration, backup/recovery, and database security. 
• Experience with database performance tuning, query optimization, and index management. 
• Familiarity with disaster recovery planning and high-availability solutions. 
• Experience developing and implementing database policies and procedures. 
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. 
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment. 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
   
• Preferred Qualifications
  •    Familiarity with database automation, scripting, and monitoring tools. 
  •    Experience supporting highly available or mission-critical systems. 
  •    Knowledge of compliance and security best practices for enterprise databases. 
  •    Microsoft SQL certifications are a plus.
