Systems Engineer - Intern

SHI International Corp. is a global provider of IT solutions and services. The Systems Engineering Intern will support the Integration Services team by configuring, testing, and validating customer hardware and software environments, troubleshooting systems, developing automation scripts, and documenting procedures.

What you'll do:

• Assist in installing and configuring operating systems and application software for customer orders
• Support the setup of VPNs and infrastructure in collaboration with IT and security teams, as and when needed
• Monitor and test application performance under supervision
• Help maintain customer-owned equipment in secure environments Contribute to development and testing of automation scripts (e.g., PowerShell, Python)
• Participate in validation and troubleshooting of firmware and device drivers
• Shadow senior engineers during Linux server, switch, storage, or firewall configuration and deployment
• Document procedures and findings to support operational efficiency
• Engage in team meetings and cross-functional coordination with QC and Project Management
• Stay current on industry trends and technologies relevant to data center engineering
