About this role
Raytheon is an aerospace and defense company developing systems for naval undersea and surface domains. The Systems Engineer Intern will support systems engineering across the design V-model, conduct acoustics, radar, and sonar data analysis, manage requirements, and assist with integration, verification, validation, and testing activities.
What you'll do:
- Support systems engineering activities across the design V‑model, including requirements definition, architecture development, integration, verification, and validation
- Conduct data analysis, such as acoustics, radar and sonar data, using tools such as MATLAB
- Perform requirements analysis, development and management
- Support in developing and maintaining system requirements, ensuring traceability through design, implementation, and test phases
- Support planning and execution of Integration, Verification, or Test activities
- Prepare and present results in reports and briefings to internal or external stakeholders
What they're looking for:
- • This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) Technology or Engineering, degree program and will be at minimum, entering their sophomore year by the start of summer 2026
- • Experience with tools, such as MATLAB or Python, for data analysis and automation
- • Must have a minimum of 60 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session
- • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects
- Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Ability to obtain INTERIM U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
- • Experience with troubleshooting technical issues with electronics in an academic or internship setting, including the use of common commercial test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, etc.)
- • Experience with or exposure to naval undersea and/or naval surface platforms
