About the Department
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Consultant serves as a strategic partner and frontline ambassador for the Talent Acquisition function. This role blends high-level consultative support with operational excellence, ensuring a seamless, human-centered experience for candidates, hiring managers, and internal stakeholders.

The TA Consultant manages the administrative and operational processes from the identification of a hiring need to when an attractive job posting has been activated for candidate applications. This dynamic professional learns then provides consultative guidance on our NEOED recruitment system and ensures compliance across hiring activities. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, curiosity that is fueled by a growth mindset, and the ability to translate complex processes into clear, supportive guidance across diverse audiences.
Position Duties
Candidate & Customer Experience
· Serve as the initial point of contact for candidates, employees, and the public by answering phones, greeting visitors, and responding to hiring-related inquiries with warmth, professionalism, and a hospitality-driven mindset.
· Deliver an exceptional candidate experience by anticipating needs, offering proactive support, and ensuring timely, thoughtful communication throughout the hiring process.
· Manage a high-volume shared Talent Acquisition inbox, responding promptly, accurately, and with a consultative tone that reflects the department’s service philosophy.
· Provide personalized support to applicants navigating the applicant tracking system (NEOED), including troubleshooting, document uploads, password resets, and application guidance.
Recruitment Operations & Systems Support
· Post and manage job requisitions across multiple platforms (NEOED, Indeed, Handshake), monitor campaign performance, and conduct outreach to potential candidates.
· Move candidates through workflow stages in the ATS with accuracy and timeliness.
· Retrieve, verify, and maintain applicant information to ensure system accuracy and compliance.
· Support Talent Acquisition Partners by preparing applicant materials, generating reports, and maintaining data integrity across ATS and HRIS systems.
· Address hiring manager questions related to system navigation, recruitment processes, and best practices.
Onboarding & Compliance
· Facilitate onboarding processes for new hires, including verifying federally regulated documentation, completing Form I-9s, and managing foreign national recertifications.
· Schedule and conduct I-9 verification meetings; ensure accurate completion and filing of all I-9 documentation.
· Submit and track background checks through Castle Branch; notify relevant stakeholders upon completion.
· Maintain onboarding trackers and ensure timely entry of new hire data into ATS and HRIS systems.
· File and maintain I-9s for terminated employees in accordance with federal retention requirements.
Administrative Excellence
· Monitor and respond to Talent Acquisition voicemail messages; follow up with candidates and hiring managers as needed.
· Process status changes, terminations, and retirements in ATS and HRIS systems with precision and compliance.
· Perform administrative tasks including scanning, filing, data entry, and report generation to support daily operations.
· Assist with miscellaneous tasks arising from Talent Acquisition inbox requests or team needs.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Representation
· Partner with internal stakeholders such as Payroll, Compensation, Budgets, and HR Operations to ensure smooth, timely, and accurate hiring processes.
· Represent the Talent Acquisition team at internal and external job fairs, recruitment events, and campus engagements.
· Build strong consultative relationships with hiring managers, offering guidance rooted in curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
· Build Area of Expertise within the Talent Acquisition Function that aligns with Central Piedmont organizational goals and strategic vision.

Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited institution
Preferred Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
· Exposure to Talent Acquisitions, recruiting and staffing
· Experience working with applicant tracking systems and HRIS systems
· APHR, SHRM or other HR Certifications
· Bi-lingual
Other Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
· Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume communication channels (email, phone, ATS messaging) with accuracy and professionalism.
· Strong attention to detail with a proven track record of maintaining data integrity and compliance.
· Experience with applicant tracking systems (NEOED/GOV preferred) and HRIS platforms.
· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to provide consultative support to diverse stakeholders.
· Demonstrated commitment to delivering outstanding customer service and creating positive, memorable experiences.
· Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.

• Typical office environment.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit for long durations of time.
• The employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 30 lbs.
