The Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill one (1) Tax Examiner Manager position in the Personal Income & School District Tax Division. 

What You’ll do as a Tax Examiner Manager:

  • Supervise Tax Examiners (i.e., Tax Examiner Associates, Tax Examiners, &/or Tax Examiner Specialists) &/or other employees.
  • Manage lower level staff in preparation & maintenance of tax records & ensures staff follow guidelines in records management.
  • Manage preparation & maintenance of aspect quality management programs.
  • Prepare & review operational reports & schedules to ensure accuracy & efficiency.
  • Conduct &/or assist in conducting training for internal &/or external personnel; deliver speeches &/or participate in workshops, seminars &/or conferences.
  • Organize and lead weekly team meetings, including agenda preparation, to share updates, promote best practices, and address employee concerns.
  • Generate weekly performance reports and deliver timely updates to senior management regarding team metrics and operational outcomes.

Undergraduate core program in accounting, business, public administration or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 42 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, &/or taxation; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.

-Or graduate core program in accounting, business, public administration, or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 30 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, &/or taxation; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.

 

-Or 18 mos. exp. as a Tax Examiner Specialist, 66813.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.

 

For positions performing audits per the approved Position Description on file, qualifications are established in accordance with O.R.C. 5703.17.

Must provide own transportation unless State vehicle is provided.
