About this role
- Assist attorneys in reviewing and analyzing various legal documents, such as commercial contracts and corporate governance materials
- Contribute to legal research and monitoring developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts and services remain compliant
- Support legal managed services engagements, which may involve monitoring developments in the legal and regulatory environment to ensure contracts and services remain compliant
- Manage the formation, registration and dissolution of domestic and international entities, ensuring compliance with jurisdictional requirements
- Draft and maintain corporate documents including bylaws, operating agreements, resolutions and meeting minutes for boards and committees
- Coordinate and file annual reports, business licenses and other regulatory filings to maintain good standing across jurisdictions
- Collaborate with diverse teams of professionals within KPMG Law and across KPMGs broader network, including international member firms
- Act with integrity, professionalism and personal responsibility to uphold KPMGs respectful and courteous work environment
Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing the following degrees/majors: a JD or equivalent program (such as LLM and more) from an accredited college or university; plan to pursue Arizona bar license preferred
- Upon completion of this internship, candidates must have additional academic credits to complete before obtaining their degree
- Strong in technical, business acumen, critical thinking and agility skills; demonstrated ability to excel and drive strategic outcomes, coupled with a professional demeanor and a collaborative leadership approach, in a dynamic, evolving environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook) and a passion to innovate through technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and their application to various legal services use cases
- Excellent communication (written and verbal), time management and leadership skills; a flexible and adaptable team player; resourceful in delivering high-quality work
- Ability to prioritize tasks, work on multiple assignments and manage assignments in a team environment
- Must reside within a reasonably commutable distance to the office for this position and be able to travel to reasonably commutable work locations using own means of transportation, such as a personal vehicle or public transportation
- Ability to travel and/or work on-site at client premises as needed, at times with relatively short notice
