About this role
As part of the Americas Tax Technology Group (ATTG), you will join a technology organization focused on transforming tax services through Artificial Intelligence (AI), intelligent automation, advanced analytics, and cloud technologies. Collaborating with engineers, data scientists, architects, product managers, and Tax professionals, you will contribute to the development of AI-powered applications, automation platforms, and data-driven solutions that improve business outcomes and client service. Interns will gain hands-on experience with emerging technologies, including AI-powered assistants, intelligent automation, analytics platforms, cloud-native applications, and scalable enterprise solutions. You will contribute to initiatives that enhance decision-making, streamline business processes, unlock value from data, and accelerate digital transformation across the Tax practice.
## Your Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering and business teams to develop innovative technology solutions for Tax professionals.
- Assist in building AI-powered applications, intelligent assistants, and automation solutions using modern AI frameworks and cloud technologies.
- Support the development and enhancement of digital AI-enabled applications.
- Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to leverage AI, automation, and emerging technologies to improve productivity and efficiency.
- Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and production-ready solutions using modern software development practices.
- Create dashboards, analytics solutions, and data visualizations that support business decision-making.
- Work with structured and unstructured data to develop insights and support AI-driven use cases.
- Participate in application testing, quality assurance, performance tuning, and solution deployment activities.
- Contribute to technical documentation, solution design discussions, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
- Research emerging technologies and evaluate their potential application within ATTG and the broader Tax organization.
- Apply security, privacy, compliance, and Responsible AI principles throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Present findings, project outcomes, and innovative ideas to technical and business stakeholders.
## Skills and attributes for success
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- A predicted undergraduate or graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, supported by a strong academic record.
- A 3.0 cumulative college/university GPA.
- A passion for Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and emerging technologies, with a strong curiosity to continuously learn and stay ahead in a rapidly evolving technology landscape.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value and work effectively across engineering, product, data, and business teams.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and a desire to explore new opportunities, develop innovative AI-powered solutions, and help shape the future of intelligent enterprise capabilities within ATTG and the broader Tax organization.
- An interest in working in the team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. The expectation is for most people in external, client-serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project, or year.
- Access to reliable transportation to and from the EY office and client sites. A driver’s license is strongly recommended as rideshare and public transportation options may not be available in all locations.
- The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.
- Residence within a commutable distance of the office location associated with this position.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without the need for employer sponsorship, now and in the future.Ideally, you will have:
- A cumulative college/university GPA of 3.2 or above.
- Foundational knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, C#, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with cloud computing platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of software development principles, APIs, databases, and modern application architectures.
- Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.This position is not able to consider candidates with an Accounting major. CPA-track candidates with an interest in Tax should explore opportunities in 360 Careers Tax.

- The hourly pay range for this job in the U.S. is $32.69–$36.06. Individual salaries are based on education, geographic location, and alignment to market data.
