Job Duties:
A DBA's daily routine revolves around keeping databases secure, available, and high performing. Typical tasks include:
-Monitoring & Maintenance - Checking database health, performance metrics, and error logs to catch issues early.
-Backup & Recovery - Running and verifying backups, ensuring disaster recovery plans are ready.
-User & Security Management - Managing access permissions, roles, and security policies to protect data.
-Performance Tuning - Optimizing queries, indexes, and configurations for faster response times.
-Troubleshooting - Investigating and resolving database errors or slowdowns.
-Updates & Patching - Applying software updates and patches to maintain stability and security.
You'd be a GOOD fit if:
You have a bachelor's degree.
You have one year full-time, wage-earning relational database administration, computer programming, or combination of this experience.
You'd be a GREAT fit if:
If you have experience in backup and restore activities for databases.
You have experience with data warehousing concepts and tools.
You have criminal justice information systems experience.
