Job Duties:

You help make sure inmates get proper access to medical care by supporting staff, providers, and other agencies with program and technical guidance. You¿re involved in on-site clinical reviews, gathering data, auditing healthcare practices, and looking into medical complaints. A big part of your work includes reviewing inmate medical records to ensure treatments, procedures, and documentation follow all required policies and regulations, and you prepare clear summaries of the care inmates receive.

You also research healthcare policies, review rules and procedures, and help evaluate how well medical services and documentation are being handled. Beyond that, you analyze healthcare operations, suggest improvements, assist with planning and delivering health-related training, and help develop training materials. Finally, you prepare the necessary reports, documents, and correspondence related to audits and investigations.

You'd be a GOOD fit if:

You graduated from a Licensed Vocational Training Program. 

You have three years full-time, wage-earning experience as a vocational nurse. 

You have a valid, current, and unrestricted license to practice licensed vocational nursing as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing. 

You have or be able to obtain a Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification within twelve months from the date of employment. Must maintain valid license(s) and Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification for continued employment in position.

You also have correctional nursing experience

You also have computer operations experience.
