Job Duties:

This posting is for two different positions in the Office of the Chief Information Security Officer (OCISO), one in Daily Operations (Daily Ops) and one in Policy. Most duties overlap, but Daily Ops personnel focus more on monitoring for, responding to, and investigating cybersecurity incidents, managing email security, and enforcing security policies. Policy focuses more on reviewing and updating agency cybersecurity policies, monitoring for, and reporting on updates to national and state cybersecurity frameworks and policies, participating in the review of legislation bills, and reviewing reported emails for potential cybersecurity risks.

Both positions are expected to assist with information security projects, product reviews, audits, metrics, and agency-wide cybersecurity training. Expect to communicate with anyone across the agency and vendors supporting TDCJ's mission. Travel to units throughout the state for security audits and investigations occur.

You'd be a GOOD fit if:

You're a high school graduate or have a GED and have spent a year working in the information technology field or have a current cybersecurity certification. 

You have experience with security tools would be a bonus.

You'd be a GREAT fit if:

You have a bachelor's degree, preferably in a related field, and have spent two years working in information technology.

Network Specialist II: $4,493.95 - $4,593.80
