Job Duties:

The Texas Department of Criminal Justice is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to serve as a Parole Officer I in Review and Release Processing. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing parole-related documentation, and related case-management activities. The Parole Officer I ensures that assigned operations are conducted accurately, efficiently, consistently, and in accordance with TDCJ policies, applicable laws, rules, regulations, and established procedures. This position requires strong leadership, sound judgment, attention to detail, knowledge of correctional operations, and the ability to manage sensitive information and time-critical workloads.

Have Criminal Justice Experience - You have a bachelor's degree and 2 years of experience in corrections, parole, probation, law enforcement, courts, investigations, case management, or another criminal justice environment can provide a strong foundation for this position.

Can Analyze Information - You don't simply read a case file, you can identify important information, recognize patterns, consider conflicting information, and determine what information is relevant to the parole process.

Have Excellent Written Communication Skills - You can take a large amount of information and turn it into a clear, accurate, concise, and professional report.
