Job Duties:

This position reports to the Contracts and Procurement office in Huntsville on a daily basis. This is an intermediate-level position with practical purchasing experience.  Duties include performing routine purchasing and procurement work. Work involves purchasing and procuring commodities, equipment, and services in accordance with guidelines, rules, policies, and laws. Works under moderate supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

You'd be a GOOD fit if:

You follow established rules and procedures

You can prepare informal solicitations, evaluates bids, and issues purchase orders. 

You communicate clearly with vendors and agency staff

You maintain accurate electronic records

You pay attention to detail. 

You show readiness to learn purchasing methods, apply policy correctly, and support routine procurement activities with consistency and accuracy.

You are familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel

You'd be a GREAT fit if:

You can review specifications for completeness and compliance with applicable requirements and work with agency representatives.

You are proficient in the use of computers related equipment and software programs like Excel, Outlook and Word.

You are skilled in administrative problem-solving techniques.

You are skilled in corresponding with other agency representatives and vendors regarding purchase requirements, delivery, and quality of merchandise in a proactive manner.

You have a working knowledge in procurement processes, invoicing, account receivable, invoicing and inventory management
