Technical Product Data Management Intern

Otis Elevator Co. is a global elevator and escalator manufacturing, installation, and service company. The Product Data Management Summer Intern will support engineering change implementation, manufacturing data setup, system testing, and cross-functional projects related to factory efficiency and dual sourcing in Florence, SC.

What you'll do:

• Implementing engineering change notices into the manufacturing and Tier 1 supplier system
• Reading and executing engineering drawings, manufacturing requirements, and supplier requirements into the Otis systems
• Work on special projects tied to factory efficiency and dual sourcing within the systems
• Setting up a manufacturing bill of materials and factory paths within the system
• Focus on engineering CN testing process and create a process to quickly test within database or system
• Work on cross-functional teams including members from manufacturing operations, supply management, contract logistics, finance, and field support to ensure engineering changes are implemented with pace and accuracy

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in computer information systems, engineering, business/data analytics, or a related field
• Process and data driven
• Ability to work with minimal direction; self-starter
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, respect individual differences and welcome diverse thinking
• Ability to approach the job with a sense of ownership in the outcome of their work
• Champion of process improvement
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Computer Science – Programming background preferred
• Software experience preferred
