About this role

Lunar Energy develops clean energy products and systems to support the transition to sustainable, reliable energy. The Technical Program Manager Intern will support hardware engineering programs through testing, validation, certification, manufacturing coordination, risk tracking, and executive reporting.

What you'll do:

  • Support program schedules by tracking milestones, flagging risks, and helping communicate progress across the engineering, reliability, test, and compliance teams
  • Help build and maintain validation roadmaps, timelines, and deliverable trackers, and learn to define and track resource requirements alongside senior TPMs
  • Sit in on test and certification reviews, capture action items, and follow up to make sure issues are driven to closure with clear ownership
  • Help coordinate the ordering, shipment, and delivery of prototype validation builds, and track how build-to-build variation affects downstream test and compliance work
  • Pull together clear, executive-ready status updates that summarize risk, progress, and next steps for a program
  • Learn firsthand how program management drives a hardware product from concept through production, and how engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams work together to get there

What they're looking for:

  • You're currently pursuing a BS or MS in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, Systems, Industrial, or related)
  • You're passionate about accelerating the adoption of renewables and improving our energy infrastructure, and you're excited to learn how ambitious program plans actually get executed
  • You communicate clearly, ask good questions, and follow up until things are resolved
  • You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy collaborating across teams and levels in a fast-moving startup environment
  • This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Mountain View, CA
  • Prior internship, co-op, or project experience in an engineering or technical environment (e.g., a lab, a formula/Solar/Baja or other collegiate design team, or a research group) is a plus
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Smartsheet, or Excel is a plus, but not required — we'll teach you
