Technician, Pharmacy - Retail Pharmacy Mullica Hill - FT

MAJOR FUNCTION: 

Performs the manual technical tasks involved with the proper storage, distribution, packaging and labeling of drugs, obtaining patient’s clinical and prescription plan coverage information, review of new and/or refill prescription, associated record keeping and patient charging systems. Works under the direct supervision and control of a Registered Pharmacist. Follows proper procedures for the operation of equipment and use of supplies.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience:

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Retail Pharmacy technician experience preferred.                     

Certification/Licensure:    

• Registered New Jersey Pharmacy Technician required, within 6 months of employment in this position. 
• Completion of a certified pharmacy technician training program or a passing score on the Certified Pharmacy Technician Examination offered by the Academy of Pharmacy Technicians or other comparable national certification.
• Valid NJ Driver’s license required. 

Physical Requirements:     

• Ability to sit, stand, walk lift and carry items weighing up to 40 pounds.
