Its Technology Apprentice Program provides a 16-week immersive experience focused on software engineering and application development through real-world projects, training, collaboration, and mentorship.
What you'll do:
- Participate in a comprehensive onboarding experience to equip you with the knowledge, connections, and technical skills needed to thrive within The Cigna Group's technology function
- Grow your career through development workshops, trainings, and continued education options
- Engage and grow within the technology function through hands-on experience solving real-world challenges, deepening your technical skills
- Work alongside experienced software and/or application developers to build, test, and maintain applications while developing core technical and professional skills
- Engage with peers, mentors, and cross-functional partners through collaborative initiatives
What they're looking for:
- • Completion of an Associate's degree in software development, computer science, or a related technology field
- • Graduation from a technical bootcamp focused on full-stack development, front-end/back-end engineering, or app development
- • Completion of a recognized technical certification from a recognized technical organization/institution (e.g., AWS, Microsoft, Oracle) with hands-on experience applying those skills in real-world projects
- • Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: Java, JavaScript, .NET, Kotlin, Typescript, C#, Python, Go
- • Familiarity with the software development lifecycle, version control systems (Git) and basic debugging techniques
- • Basic understanding of programming concepts (variables, loops, functions)
- • Familiarity with web development fundamentals (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- • Effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
- • Ability to learn new technology quickly and adapt to changing priorities
- • A growth mindset focused on taking ownership of personal and professional growth through continuous learning and proactive career exploration
- • Demonstrated curiosity and creativity in solving problems
- • Collaboration and relationship building in diverse teams
