The Digital Media Coordinator will inform and educate the public, state and local leaders, and veterans on all matters pertaining to veterans; amplifying the voice of veterans and assisting veterans in their contributions to the civic discourse. 

Responsibilities of the Digital Media Coordinator:
  • Website & App Content Management
    • Manage daily content additions, copy edits, and promotional updates across website pages and mobile app interfaces.
    • Design and build visually appealing web pages, landing pages, banners, and app features that adhere to modern UI/UX principles, mobile responsiveness, and brand guidelines,
    • Audit digital properties regularly to fix broken links, update outdated media, optimize image loading speeds, and ensure compliance with accessibility standards.
    • Collaborate with IT, web developers, or external agencies to troubleshoot bugs, implement plugin updates, and test new functionality across web and app environments.
  • Email Marketing & Newsletter Production 
    • Write, design, schedule, and send targeted promotional newsletters, product announcements, and nurture campaigns to external subscribers, clients, and leads.
    • Conceptualize and distribute engaging internal newsletters and executive updates to keep staff informed, connected, and aligned with company news and culture.
    • Manage email list databases, segmentation strategies, opt-in forms, and unsubscribe compliance to maintain high deliverability, open, and click-through rates.
  • Graphic Design & Visual Assets
    • Design high-quality visual content including infographics, digital banners, social media graphics, video thumbnails, digital signage, and presentations slide decks using Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), or Canva.
    • Maintain and enforce visual identity standards across all digital platforms to ensure brand cohesion across every department.
    • Organize and maintain a digital asset management (DAM) library of logos, stock photography, brand guidelines, templates, and video archives.
  • Social Media & Multimedia Content Collaboration
    • Plan, schedule, and publish web content to assist with promoting social media content of SCDVA platforms and other produces multimedia content.
    • Assist with monitoring social media channels daily for audience comments, tags, and inquiries related to web-specific content; respond in a brand-consistent tone to foster community growth and engagement.
    • Stay informed on social media algorithm updates, emerging platforms, digital tools, and creative multimedia trends to assist with keeping content fresh and competitive on digital and social platforms.
  • Analytics, Reporting & Optimization
    • Monitor key metrics across web traffic (Google Analytics), app usage, and email marketing analytics.
    • Generate monthly performance dashboards summarizing digital reach, audience demographics, conversion rates, and campaign ROI.
    • Translate analytical insights into actionable recommendations to optimize graphics, copy, publishing times, and channel distribution strategies.

Position Duties

A high school diploma or equivalent.

Additional Requirements:

  • Position may require employee to work evenings and weekends.
  • Position requires routine driver duties.
  • Position requires frequent stooping and/or bending.
  • Position requires frequent lifting: 20lbs. 
  • Position requires declaration of: Essential.
  • Position may be required to report to work during emergency situations.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and/or training certifications in marketing, communications, and journalism are preferred.
