About this role

This position is at the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences.

Position will perform as follows: The Understanding Development in Diverse Contexts (UDDC) Lab in the Department of Psychology is seeking a post-baccalaureate assistant. The UDDC Lab investigates how race/ethnicity and socioeconomic status intersect to shape children’s development and the contexts they grow up in. The UDDC Lab is looking for a research assistant who will assist with a range of research, project coordination, community engagement and outreach, and administrative tasks. Under the guidance and supervision of the lab’s faculty mentor, the research assistants’ responsibilities may include data entry, management, and analysis tasks. The RA is also expected to support manuscript development and preparation. The RA will also support data collection efforts including facilitating focus groups, conducting interviews, and administering surveys and assessments. The RA will work with community partners and organizations and provide administrative support (e.g., conducting systematic searches of bibliographic databases, citation management, participant recruitment, screening, and scheduling). 


Strong oral and written communication skills; Excellent attention to detail; Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; Ability to multitask and work successfully in a team environment; Ability to work independently as well as to seek support when necessary; Proficiency with MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Experience with Google Workspace (e.g., Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms); Experience with qualitative and quantitative data analysis and software (e.g., NVivo; Stata, SPSS, R).
