About this role

The Department of History in the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time, 9-month appointment, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Modern Middle East history, broadly defined, with an anticipated start date in fall 2027. We seek a scholar whose research complements and enhances existing departmental strengths and broadens our intellectual and methodological diversity. Candidates should demonstrate a record of, or clear potential for, significant scholarly contributions. For more on the department’s exceptional research, see our faculty listing. The successful candidate will maintain an ambitious, productive research agenda, teach two courses per semester, recruit and train outstanding students, and participate in university and professional affairs.

The position requires a Ph.D. in History, or a related field.
