About this role
American National is an insurance organization offering a summer internship program with hands-on corporate experience and professional development opportunities. The Threat and Vulnerability Management Intern will support vulnerability identification, scanning, patching, remediation verification, documentation, and cybersecurity process improvement activities.
What you'll do:
- Assist with identifying and tracking vulnerabilities across company systems and assets
- Support monthly patching and remediation activities
- Help perform vulnerability scans and review results
- Assist with remediation verification and follow-up activities
- Contribute to program documentation and process improvement initiatives
- Participate in team meetings, projects, and collaborative activities
What they're looking for:
- * Enrolled in an accredited college or university
- * Junior standing or higher by the start of the internship; May 2027 graduates are welcome
- * Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- * Available to work 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
- * Able to work onsite at the posted role location
- * Pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
- * Interest in cybersecurity, threat management, and vulnerability management
- * Basic understanding of cybersecurity concepts and security best practices
- * Strong verbal and written communication skills
- * Sound problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities
- * Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work independently
- * Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy
