Job Description
Performs highly complex (senior-level) inventory. Work involves stocking, arranging, and transferring inventory; displaying and selling merchandise; and ensuring compliance with established security requirements, loss prevention controls, and procedures. May provide guidance to others. Works under general supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. May be required to work in excess of 40 hours per work week.
Essential Job Duties
Coordinates the receipt of shipments from venders, oversees the unloading of stock
Coordinates the delivery of shipments to customers, oversees the loading of stock
Monitor, coordinate, and schedule inventories of stock; prepares inventory records
Reviews and maintains inventory databases; ensures adequate stock reorder points
Monitors stock control records following loss prevention and agency guidelines
Communicate with vendors to ensure materials (or suitable replacement) are provided in a timely manner
Communicate with customers; address concerns with shipping, receiving, requisitioning of materials
Serve as work lead; provide direction to others by assigning workloads and daily tasks
Reconcile stock requisitions against materials received and inventory against material shipments to resolve inventory reporting discrepancies
Monitors Warehouse and Staff to ensure safety procedures are followed when operating machinery and ensures inventory and storage areas are clean and maintained
Review policies and make recommendations for potential adjustments
Collaborate with interdepartmental management teams and organizational analysts
Performs all duties in compliance with agency safety policies and procedures:
- Reports safety hazards and corrects hazards when possible.
- Completes required documentation in the event of an accident/injury within requested time frames.
Performs related work as assigned (as needed)
Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency attendance and leave policies.
This position requires to travel up to 20% of the time.
Expected to have an understanding of TJJD's treatment programs for the youth including Texas Model 2.0 and be able to evaluate application of the Model by TJJD staff when visiting/auditing facilities and locations where youth are supervised.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Four years 4 of experience that may be any combination of the following: retail sales, inventory management, warehouse operations, purchasing, or property accounting.
Experience and Education Substitutions:
Completed course hours of undergraduate study may substitute for up to two years of experience on a basis of 30 course hours for one year of experience.
Pro-rated part-time experience may satisfy the experience requirement.
Pre-employment conditions require acceptable results from mandatory:
