As a Tow Truck Driver/Roadside Assistance Technician at AAA Minneapolis, you’ll become the hero on the highway, offering essential support to stranded drivers. SHIFT:

  • Sun-Thurs: 7:00am -3:00pm
  • Tues-Sat: 7:00am-3:00pm

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Respond to roadside service calls to assist members and customers
  • Operate a tow truck or light service vehicle to perform jump-starts, tire changes, lockout services, fuel delivery, battery installation, towing and winching
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues and ensure vehicles are safely transported when necessary
  • Inspect and maintain service vehicles and equipment before and after shifts
  • Use maps, GPS, and wireless technology to navigate to service locations and report updates
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and follow company safety procedures

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A valid MN driver's license with a clean driving record
  • High School diploma or GED preferred but not required
  • Light and or Heavy-duty towing experience is preferred

 

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to successfully complete drug screening, MVR, criminal background check and DOT health screenings (pre-employment and ongoing)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to understand, use and maintain tools and machinery
  • Demonstrates reliability and a strong work ethic, ensuring tasks are completed on time and in accordance with set goals and expectations.
  • Strong oral and written communication abilities with the ability to actively listen, convey information clearly, and understand others' needs and concerns
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems efficiently, gather and analyze information, and make informed decisions in a timely manner

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT & SCHEDULE:

This job requires working outdoors in different weather conditions, driving for extended periods, and occasionally performing physical tasks like lifting and bending.  Flexibility with scheduling, including nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
