Trader Trainee Intern (Summer 2027)

Louis Dreyfus Company is a global merchant and processor of agricultural goods. The Trader Trainee Intern will complete an immersive 10-week program learning to trade physical commodities, analyze market data, manage market risks, and support real business needs through hands-on work.

What you'll do:

• Interns will complete a 10-week program and learn how to trade physical commodities in global markets while managing the substantial risks inherent in volatile markets
• Program starts with a comprehensive training seminar designed to help you succeed in your position
• You will gain familiarity with the physical flow of commodities in both domestic and international markets
• You will be assigned hands-on, robust work, goals, and objectives tied to real business needs
• Interns have direct access to senior traders and managers in an open working environment that is designed to encourage the free flow of ideas and information
• Interns are encouraged to actively participate, ask questions, and offer opinions
• Research and analyze market data
• Create spreadsheets to organize relevant data

What they're looking for:

• Must be enrolled in college pursuing a two or four-year degree in one of the following areas: Business, economics, agriculture, communications or marketing
• Willingness to learn the basics of futures markets, hedging and customer relations
• Possesses a genuine interest in sales and enjoys interacting with new people daily, with the ability to socialize easily and gain trust and extract information through conversation
• Skilled in communication, both written and verbal
• Proficient with MS Word and Excel
