About the Department


The Facility Maintenance Technician IV performs a variety of skilled maintenance and repair tasks to support the safe, functional, and professional appearance of Midlands Technical College facilities. Responsibilities include completing miscellaneous facility projects such as painting, drywall repair, carpentry, fixture installation, and the relocation of furniture, equipment, and materials throughout campus locations. This position utilizes the College's computerized work order system to document, track, and complete assigned maintenance requests while ensuring work is performed efficiently, safely, and in accordance with established standards. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and committed to providing excellent service in support of the College's students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

This position will be located on the Midlands Technical College Airport Campus.

Position Duties

A high school diploma or equivalent and formal training or trade experience that is directly related to the area of employment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience performing complex maintenance and repair tasks in areas such as carpentry, masonry, electricity, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and boiler operation. 
  • Experience assisting with miscellaneous facility projects, including painting, drywall repair, carpentry, and installation of fixtures within the facility, is also preferred.
  • Familiarity with utilizing a work order system to log activities.
