About this role

About the Department

Assists the Road Data Services department in the preparation and maintenance of statewide highway inventory databases used for transportation planning. Performs technical duties associated with the collection, analysis, and distribution of complex statistical information in accordance with state and federal guidelines. Manages and maintains monthly Posting Advice data through review, support, and inclusion into and management of the ProjectWise database. 

Maintains and update the Inventory Manager database to reflect current and accurate reporting. Review, understand, and comply with all agency directives, polices, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and reliability of services.

Manages the Department's ProjectWise database records. Review, understand, and comply with all agency directives, polices, procedures, and standards to ensure consistency and reliability of services. 

Performs peer review of other employees' work. Produce Road Inventory related reporting. Maintain mileage ledgers. Recognize, report, and/or implement changes needed to improve the workflow of Road Inventory maintenance. Cross train other employees. Performs other related duties as assigned. 

Position Duties

A high school diploma and two (2) years of progressively responsible engineering technician related experience; or an approved acceptable equivalence.  Attainment of a Technician Certification in accordance with the SCDOT Technician Certification Policy may substitute for six (6) months of directly related experience.

The physical demands for the essential functions involves frequent bending, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to 50 lbs. Walking for extended periods, treading rough terrain, working in close proximity to motoring traffic, and in natural environmental hazards. May require occasional exposure to noise. May require working outside of normal work schedules and weekends.
