Turnaround Intern - Electrical Engineer

The Turnaround Engineering Intern will support planning, readiness, execution, and continuous improvement activities for a major plant turnaround, including engineering, operations, maintenance, reliability, process safety, and capital project work.

What you'll do:

• Assist engineering and operations teams with development and tracking of turnaround work scopes
• Perform field verification of work packages, equipment tags, drawings, and P&IDs
• Participate in readiness reviews, walkdowns, and planning meetings
• Support MOC job package reviews and readiness activities
• Assist with contractor logistics, procurement tracking, and site preparation
• Support development or modification of nitrogen purge and leak testing procedures
• Assist with vent-to-flare emissions calculations and contractor training activities
• Exercise stop-work authority and identify EHS concerns requiring escalation
• Provide field support during outage execution and monitor assigned scopes
• Conduct visual inspections of heat exchangers, vessels, heaters, and towers
• Track equipment closure and pre-commissioning documentation
• Support daily turnaround KPI reporting and coordination meetings

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented industrial environment
