About Southwest Medical
Southwest Medical, part of Optum Nevada, is one of Nevada's largest multispecialty medical groups. The organization serves patients across the Las Vegas Valley through an integrated network of primary, specialty, urgent, virtual and outpatient surgical care. Its connected model includes shared electronic health records, onsite diagnostics, pharmacy services, care management, home-based services and access to primary and specialty care.
About Urgent Care / On-Demand Care
Our Urgent Care / On-Demand Care department provides comprehensive outpatient episodic care at 5 urgent care locations across the Las Vegas Valley, along with virtual care through NowClinic. This is a higher-acuity, step-down-from-the-emergency-department model rather than a traditional low-acuity urgent care setting.
Providers have access to onsite laboratory testing and diagnostic imaging, including X-ray, ultrasound and CT at designated sites, as well as IV fluids, IV antibiotics, infusions, close observation, referrals, discharge planning and escalation or transfer to the emergency department when clinically appropriate.
Position Highlights
* Full-time employed position with shift-based coverage and no call.

* Weekends, nights and holidays are distributed equitably. Additional premium-paid shifts may be available.
* Broad-acuity practice treating acute illness and injury, including clinically appropriate higher-acuity presentations such as chest pain, atrial fibrillation and congestive heart failure.
* Multidisciplinary team with physicians, advanced practice clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, imaging, laboratory and operational support.
* Approximately 2-3 patient visits per hour, depending on site, shift, season and acuity.
* Providers may be asked to cover alternate Las Vegas Valley sites based on operational needs.
* Competitive total rewards package, including incentive opportunities and comprehensive benefits.
Practice Locations
* Rancho Healthcare Center, 888 S. Rancho Drive, Las Vegas (open 24/7)

Primary Responsibilities

* Participate in department quality and continuous-improvement initiatives.

* Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree.
* Board certification in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine.
* Active, unrestricted Nevada medical license, or ability to obtain before employment.
* Active DEA registration and Nevada controlled-substance authority, or ability to obtain before employment.
* At least 2 years of physician experience in an emergency medicine or urgent care setting.
