About this role

Barclays US Consumer Bank is a digital banking organization providing credit card, personal loan, and savings products and partnering with major consumer brands. The Summer Analyst intern will support marketing, data, technology, product, operations, partnerships, and business strategy initiatives by analyzing trends, contributing recommendations, and using data and emerging technologies to improve business decisions and customer experiences.

What you'll do:

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for retail banking
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to support business initiatives
  • Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge
  • Identification of opportunities, development of business cases, management of the deployment and launch of new products and services for retail banking
  • Management of client relationships and provision of customer service support to clients and customers, under steadily decreasing supervision, responding to questions about products and services, processing of transactions, and resolution of customer complaints
  • Management of the development and implementation of financial models and strategies that support in decision making for retail banking
  • Training and mentoring of junior colleagues
  • To perform prescribed activities in a timely manner and to a high standard consistently driving continuous improvement
  • Requires in-depth technical knowledge and experience in their assigned area of expertise
  • Thorough understanding of the underlying principles and concepts within the area of expertise
  • They lead and supervise a team, guiding and supporting professional development, allocating work requirements and coordinating team resources

What they're looking for:

  • To be considered for this program, you must be motivated and curious with a degree or expected degree in any area
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in any discipline with anticipated graduation between December 2027 – June 2028
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full time basis
  • To be eligible, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
  • Ideally, a GPA of 3.2 or above is preferred
  • Interest in how data, analytics, and technology inform decisions in areas such as marketing, product management, partnerships, or business development
  • Curiosity about AI, automation, and emerging technologies, including how these tools can enhance personal productivity and business outcomes
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, regardless of major
  • Comfort working with data, tools, or systems (coursework, projects, internships, or self directed learning)
  • Collaborative mindset, intellectual curiosity, and willingness to learn
