Qualifications
Required
- Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school or possession of a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) certificate.
- One (1) year of experience in vending machine maintenance, repair, and service.
- Possession of an appropriate, valid motor vehicle operator's license with a good driving record.
- May be required to work an evening and/or night shift on a regular or rotating basis.
- Knowledge of the equipment, materials, methods, practices, and tools used in the maintenance and repair of coin-operated vending machines.
- Knowledge of common hazards and necessary safety precautions.
- Knowledge of local, state, and national codes.
- Skill in the use of tools, equipment, and materials pertinent to the trade.
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturers' manuals.
- Capability to estimate time and material needs, determine when the repair is not economically practical, and perform routine tasks and arithmetic computations.

Major Duties/Essential Functions
- Maintains and repairs all types of cold drinks, hot beverages, cold food, and snack vending machines.
- Replaces motors, validators, coin mechanisms, bearings, seals, gaskets, gearboxes, heating elements, switches, wiring, thermostats, controls, and various other parts and components, as necessary.
- Diagnoses defects and makes minor or major repairs to mechanical and electrical components.
- May supervise and instruct vending route drivers.
- Drives a vehicle to and from work locations.
- Performs work at schools, centers, and administrative buildings or in a shop.
- May instruct school personnel in the care and operation of equipment.
- Drives a vehicle to and from locations and keeps the vehicle supplied with tools and materials.
- Performs operator maintenance on the vehicle and keeps it in orderly condition.
- Keeps records and makes reports of work accomplished and materials used.
- May supervise and instruct trade helpers.
- Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Work Environment/Physical Requirements
This job requires strength, agility, dexterity, and visual acuity to perform all tasks. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must adhere to all site safety regulations and may be required to regularly stand, sit, walk, bend, climb ladders, and/or kneel. There may be exposure to extreme heat and cold, outdoor environments, heavy equipment, moving machinery, fumes, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noises. This job requires lifting up to 25 lbs., periodically lifting/moving up to 50 lbs., and occasional lifting/moving up to 100 lbs. alone or with assistance.
