Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of experience in operations or business management, and vendor management.
  • 7 years of experience using analytics or applying project management tools to address business issues.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Project Management certifications such as PMP, Six Sigma, etc.
  • Experience in risk and change management.
  • Experience in cost, quality, and relationship management. Strong Analytical and structured problem solving skills.
  • Prior vendor management experience. Strong communication skills and ability to influence people to contribute to continuous improvement of operations.
  • Ability to build strategic stakeholder relationships in an environment that is sometimes ambiguous and susceptible to changing needs.

About the job

As part of the gUP Operations team, Vendor Manager plays an important role in our vendor-based product operations. In this role, you will manage a team of vendors (suppliers) based across the globe that support scaling efforts with a variety of cross-functional teams for a host of exciting new products/ service offerings from Google. You will use your project and vendor management skills and innovative thought process to recommend solutions that will help improve evolving workflows and prepare them for scaling. In this role, you will be working as an independent, solution-oriented applicant who knows how to drive results. You will also be expected to manage a portfolio of vendor workflows that support process excellence, contribute to the long-term operational strategy and support model, extended workforce decisions, and continuous improvements of business processes.In gTech Users and Products (gUP), our mission is to advocate for Google’s users by creating helpful and trusted experiences across the product ecosystem. US: $128000 - $187000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Responsibilities

  • Manage financials/ metrics and workflow allocation for global projects on vendor operations cutting across multiple geographies, suppliers and platforms, while reviewing vendor data, identifying process improvement opportunities and driving improvement of vendor performance (Service Level Agreement (SLA) compliance, Monthly Business Review (MBRs), Quarterly Business Review (QBRs).
  • Drive complex projects spanning across multiple sites and suppliers by managing project execution, identifying project stakeholders, and managing their expectations.
  • Serve as a liaison for multiple vendor groups, identifying process improvement opportunities and working with teams to streamline operations, drive operational excellence, and remove redundancies in process, handoffs, etc.
  • Setup and drive monthly governance forums on what is working well, what needs improvement and proposed action plan, while serving as a central point of contact for all standard communications affecting most/all vendor groups.
