Internal Job Description
Responsible for generating, underwriting and managing a large portfolio of commercial real estate loans. Provide customer satisfaction while at the same time, meeting the credit quality objectives of the Bank.
Build upon general knowledge of real estate lending through hands-on experience. This will be reflected in the accuracy, reliability, creativity, and consistency in underwriting and portfolio loan reviews to effectively provide structural alternatives to customer loan requests based on knowledge and experience gained in underwriting.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance or related field required. Will consider commensurate experience.
• Must have good math and analytical skills.
• Strong communication skills required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in commercial real estate lending required.
• Experience with managing a diverse portfolio.
Principle Activities and Duties:
• Soliciting and underwriting commercial mortgage loans through builders and developers.
• Obtains and analyzes pertinent financial and credit data to determine the borrowers credit worthiness and recommend/negotiate terms and conditions of loan structure for borrower.
• Perform site inspections of perspective property to ensure stability of market area and integrity of the property.
• Prepare loan presentations for committee approval, which includes working with loan analyst.
• Order appraisal, flood certifications and other required documents prior to funding.
• Work with outside legal counsel to ensure the preparation of legal documents required. Participates in closings of loans to ensure banks position is not compromised as to the agreed upon structure of the loan.
• Monitors existing portfolio assigned.
• Read trade publications, business newspapers, and economic forecasts in order to develop an awareness of economic activity and current events in the real estate industry. Evaluate this market information as to its impact on real estate and banking industry.
• Perform additional assignments as requested.
• All employees have the responsibility and the accountability to serve as risk managers for their businesses by understanding, reporting, responding to, managing, and monitoring the risk they encounter daily as required by Dollar Bank’s risk management program. Compliance with regulatory laws and company procedures is a required component of all position descriptions.
