Position Summary
The Vice President, Demo Environments is responsible for the strategy, delivery, and operations of enterprise demo environments that showcase the company's Human Resources, Payroll, and Workforce Management SaaS solutions. This leader ensures demo environments are reliable, current, scalable, and aligned with product innovation to support Sales and Solution Consulting.
Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, Sales, and Marketing, the VP leads bringing the compelling customer scenarios provided by Product and Marketing to life in our demo environments, oversees environment lifecycle management, and drives automation and operational excellence. This role transforms demo environments into a strategic capability that accelerates revenue, enhances customer engagement, and highlights the value of the company's solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
• Develop and execute the enterprise vision and multi-year roadmap for demo environments across all HCM product lines.
• Establish demo environments as a strategic corporate capability that directly supports revenue growth, customer engagement, analyst relations, and executive briefings.
• Define organizational priorities, investment strategies, governance, and success metrics.
• Build and lead a high-performing global organization focused on innovation, operational excellence, and customer impact.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, accountability, and technical excellence.
Demo Platform Strategy
• Define the architecture and lifecycle management of demo environments spanning:
o Human Resources
o Payroll
o Workforce Management
o Talent Management
o Recruiting
o Learning
o Benefits
o Analytics
o AI capabilities
o Platform services
• Ensure environments accurately represent current product functionality, future innovations, integrations, and customer use cases.
• Drive standardization while enabling regional, industry, and customer-specific flexibility.
Environment Operations
• Lead teams responsible for:
o Environment provisioning
o Data management
o Refresh automation
o Configuration management
o Release readiness
o Environment monitoring
o Performance optimization
o Availability and reliability
• Establish service levels and operational excellence practices to ensure high availability and rapid issue resolution.
• Implement automation to reduce manual effort and improve scalability.
Product & Engineering Partnership
• Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to align demo environments with product release cycles.
• Ensure rapid adoption of new features into demo environments.
• Influence product design to improve demonstrability and customer storytelling.
• Participate in release planning and launch readiness activities.
Sales & Customer Experience Enablement
• Collaborate with Sales Leadership and Solution Consulting to understand evolving demonstration needs.
• Deliver standardized, high-quality demo experiences that support:
o Enterprise sales
o Strategic pursuits
o Executive demonstrations
o Industry events
o Customer conferences
o Analyst briefings
• Enable rapid creation of customer-specific demonstration environments for strategic opportunities.
Demo Data & Storytelling
• Define enterprise standards for demo data strategy.
• Oversee creation of realistic customer personas, business scenarios, and industry-specific datasets.
• Ensure demonstrations reflect authentic business workflows and measurable customer outcomes.
• Partner with Marketing and Industry teams to build demos aligned to their use cases to differentiated customer narratives.
Automation & Innovation
• Drive investment in:
o Infrastructure automation
o AI-assisted environment creation
o Self-service provisioning
o Demo orchestration
o Environment health monitoring
o Data generation automation
o Release validation
• Continuously improve operational efficiency through DevOps and platform engineering practices.
Governance, Security & Compliance
• Establish governance for demo environment lifecycle management.
• Ensure environments comply with enterprise security, privacy, and compliance requirements.
• Define policies for data usage, access management, retention, and environment standardization.
• Mitigate operational and business risks associated with demonstration platforms.
Financial & Resource Management
• Own annual operating and capital budgets.
• Develop investment business cases and ROI analyses.
• Optimize vendor relationships and technology investments.
• Drive cost efficiency through automation and platform standardization.
Talent Leadership
• Recruit, develop, and retain world-class leaders and technical talent.
• Build organizational capabilities across platform engineering, DevOps, cloud operations, solution architecture, data engineering, and demo experience design.
• Mentor future leaders and promote cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications
Required
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in enterprise SaaS organizations.
• 8+ years leading global technical organizations.
• Experience supporting enterprise HR, Payroll, HCM, or Workforce Management software.
• Demonstrated success building and scaling cloud-based platforms.
• Experience leading cross-functional initiatives involving Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success.
• Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience managing multimillion-dollar operating budgets.
Preferred
• Master's degree or MBA.
• Experience with enterprise HCM platforms and ecosystems.
• Knowledge of DevOps, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, cloud architecture, and platform engineering.
• Experience supporting global enterprise sales organizations.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled automation and intelligent platform operations.

The pay range for this position is $207,400 to $298,100. The actual base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and work location. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible to participate in a performance-based bonus plan and to receive restricted stock unit awards as part of total compensation.
