Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Water Resources Engineering Intern, we'll count on you to:

  • Work under project engineers on the application of various design engineering and modeling techniques in the development of water resource projects for federal, state and local clients
  • Focus on hydraulics and hydrology modeling, stormwater collection systems modeling, data collection, assimilation, and presentations
  • Focus on projects including flood control, river design, stream grade control structures, dike systems, levees, stream channel restoration/rehabilitation, wetland and lake restoration, watershed issues and non-point source loading and point source design
  • Focus on civil design and development of construction documents for water resources and stormwater projects
  • Produce design calculations, draft technical reports and perform water resources studies
  • Perform limited field work as required by current project load
  • Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Completion of a previous internship in the field of water resources engineering
  • Experienced with software platforms such as AutoCAD, Microstation, ArcGIS, and hydraulic modeling software
  • Demonstrated knowledge of software packages related to water resources engineering
  • Preference given to local candidates

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program
  • Attention to detail
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
