WBG Pioneer - Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern

The World Bank Group is a global development institution focused on the private sector in emerging markets and developing economies. They are seeking a Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern to support data analytics and reporting for Blended Finance and fundraising operations, contributing insights and leveraging advanced data techniques.

What you'll do:

• The Blended Finance Data Analytics Intern will be part of the CBFPO unit and will support data analytics, reporting automation, and the development of data-driven insights for Blended Finance and fundraising operations
• Contribute to Blended Finance and Fundraising analytics by identifying trends, drivers, performance patterns, and forward-look recommendations to Management
• Apply advanced data analytics, visualization, and AI-enabled techniques to generate insights from Blended Finance and Fundraising data
• Explore opportunities to leverage artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, and generative AI solutions to improve data quality and data gaps

What they're looking for:

• Candidates must be currently enrolled in, or in the final year of, a postgraduate (master's/PhD) program
• Demonstrated experience through coursework, academic research, internships, or employment in financial services, investment analysis, data analytics, or related disciplines
• Understanding of financial products, investment processes, financial institutions, capital markets, or development finance
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience working with large and complex datasets
• Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools, particularly Power BI
• Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, generative AI, data automation, and advanced analytics tools and their practical application to business problems
• Academic background must align with the requirements outlined in the job description
• Demonstrated interest in development work and the World Bank Group's mission
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in diverse, team-based environments
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
• Proficiency in English; additional languages may be required depending on the role
