Web/Full Stack Software Engineer I - Sensors, Space and Air Join the Secure Product Assurance/Sensors Space and Air Software team at Raytheon, where we develop cutting-edge software applications focused on solving our customers' toughest defense challenges. In this role, you will be part of a software engineering team designing, coding, integrating, and testing modern data-driven systems that integrate analytics, visualization, and distributed mission-critical applications. You will work across back-end data processing, front-end web interfaces, and DevSecOps automation while contributing to situational awareness and decision support systems. You’ll collaborate within an Agile team to design, implement, test, and deploy software components that enable real-time data collection, processing, and user interaction across complex distributed environments. ## What You Will Do - Work on complex technical problems and collaborate to provide innovative solutions; investigate and troubleshoot issues and develop resolutions. - Work across phases of the software development lifecycle, including software/hardware integration, depending on program phase. - Assist in deriving system and software requirements, architectural modeling, and technical analysis. - Design, code, unit test, integrate, maintain, and document software applications as part of a multidisciplinary team. - Participate in software peer reviews, code inspections, and technical decision-making alongside multidisciplinary teams, including program leadership and customers. - Support program execution to ensure work products meet technical, cost, schedule, and quality baselines. - Follow established software development processes and practices to maintain software product integrity. - Work onsite at the Fullerton, California campus. - Be eligible to obtain a security clearance. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. ## Qualifications You Must Have - Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), preferably Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Data Science, from an accredited institution. Degree must be obtained by start date. - Proficiency or knowledge of web full stack development and object-oriented design and development. - Knowledge of Java development and JavaScript/TypeScript. - Knowledge of modern web UI frameworks such as Angular, Vue.js, or React; component-based architecture; and WebSockets. - Knowledge of reactive programming paradigms and frameworks for scalable event-driven applications. - Full-stack knowledge, including Java, Python, C++, Ada, and scripting. - Knowledge of Java UI frameworks such as Swing and JavaFX, Red Hat Linux, and tactical data links and radar/civilian data sources. - Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and work effectively in a collaborative environment. ## Qualifications We Prefer - Experience with DOORS, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Artifactory, Coverity, Collaborator, JIRA, or GitLab. - Experience with ML Ops or Data Ops frameworks such as Airflow, MLflow, or Kubeflow. - Familiarity with web application architecture and tools such as REST, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Redis. - Exposure to real-time systems, distributed architectures, or mission-support software such as visualization dashboards, situational awareness, or telemetry. - Internship or project experience involving data pipelines, AI/ML integration, or cross-domain systems. - Previous RTX or defense-related project experience, or demonstrated interest or exposure to defense mission domains such as aerospace, command-and-control, sensor systems, or intelligence applications. - Understanding of cloud-based services such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Knowledge of containerization and deployment technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes. ## What We Offer - RTX values Trust, Respect, Accountability, Collaboration, and Innovation. - Relocation eligible. - Employees in onsite roles work primarily onsite.Salary range: $62,900–$119,700 USD. Benefits depend on the business unit and whether the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.
