WGL - 2027 Finance & Accounting Intern

Washington Gas is seeking Accounting and Finance Interns for a paid summer internship supporting business performance across the organization. Interns will assist with financial analysis, accounting processes, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and process improvement while developing technical and professional skills.

What you'll do:

• Assist with financial analysis, reporting, and data validation activities
• Support accounting processes, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking activities
• Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and other materials for internal stakeholders
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather, analyze, and interpret financial information
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency through automation or best practices

What they're looking for:

• Currently enrolled as an undergraduate student in your sophomore or junior year at an accredited institution pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field
• Proficient in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis techniques
• Analytical mindset with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
