Wi-Fi Research Co-op

Number of Positions: 3 Duration: 4 months Date: January 11-May 21, 2027 Location: Onsite in Sunnyvale, CA Education Recommendations: Currently a candidate for a Master's, or PhD (i.e., Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.) or a related field with an accredited school in US. ## Your responsibilities - Work closely with an experienced Wi-Fi researcher, develop and evaluate new features for Wi-Fi 9 - Wi-Fi research comprises fundamental systematic research of exploratory nature for the development of next generation Wi-Fi technology, disrupting and superseding conventional approaches. - Brainstorm and develop innovative MAC and PHY concepts for IEEE 802.11bn (Wi-Fi 8) and present these concepts to your team members. - Research concepts and technologies for IEEE 802.11bn (Wi-Fi 8) and evaluate these concepts. - Prepare contributions to IEEE 802.11bn. ## Your skills and experience - Knowledge of wireless communications, including Wi-Fi MAC and/or PHY technologies. - Familiarity with IEEE 802.11be and/or IEEE 802.11bn standards. - Familiarity with machine learning/AI techniques, Python, and an interest in applying AI to wireless networking problems. - Ability to implement, evaluate, and analyze new algorithms or protocol mechanisms through simulation. - Experience with wireless link and/or system-level simulations. - Programming skills in C++, Python, and/or MATLAB. - Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills. - Demonstrated curiosity, creativity, and interest in wireless and Wi-Fi technologies.
