About this role
Department Overview:
I'm looking for a fun college student who is outgoing and has a lot of energy, and who has experience working with neurodiverse kids, to exercise with and spend time with my 15 year old daughter. She has autism (PDA profile), ADHD, low muscle tone, poor coordination, and a phenomenol memory. Due to her low muscle tone and poor coordination most movement is difficult. She moves very slooooooowly. She has historically avoided most physical activity and is in poor shape. She recently expressed interest in getting in shape so I want to jump on this while she wants to. Possible activities include: walking, biking, swimming, tennis, yoga, and dance. I don't think she would be able to handle more than an hour at a time, but to make the trip worth your while, I would be happy to have you spend another 1-2 hours with her - I can come up with activities to practice basic daily living skills and functioning in the community (shopping, crossing streets, etc). I'm also looking for someone to drvie her to a couple activities on Tuesday evenings. Two to three times a week would be amazing a good fit, I will take whatever I can get based on your availability. Flexible start date.
